Your Energy Cooperative

The aim of Heartland Rural Electric Membership Corporation is to make electric energy available to its members at the lowest cost consistent with sound economy and good management.

As a not-for-profit electric cooperative, our consumers are members - we are owned by those we serve. That sets us apart from investor-owned utilities who must answer to their stockholders. We, as a cooperative, are responsible first to our members.

At the end of each year and after all operating expenses have been paid, the remaining margins are allocated to each member based on the amount of energy purchased.
